But Saul was destroying Messiah’s community, entering house after house; and dragging off men and women, he was throwing them into prison.


Once you were “not a people,” but now you are “God’s people.” You were shown “no mercy,” but now you have been shown “mercy.”


But Ananias answered, “Lord, I have heard from many about this man—how much harm he has done to your kedoshim in Jerusalem.


Therefore let us draw near to the throne of grace with boldness, so that we may receive mercy and find grace for help in time of need.


“Now brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, just as your leaders did.

as for zeal, persecuting Messiah’s community; as for Torah righteousness, found blameless.


For you have heard of my earlier behavior in Judaism—how I persecuted God’s community beyond measure and tried to destroy it.


For I am the least of the emissaries, unworthy to be called an emissary because I persecuted God’s community.


Now concerning virgins I have no command from the Lord, but I give an opinion as one who by the Lord’s mercy is trustworthy.


I persecuted this Way to the death, arresting both men and women and throwing them in prisons—


“Who are You, Lord?” Saul said. “I am Yeshua—whom you are persecuting.


Now Saul, still breathing out threats and murder against the Lord’s disciples, went to the kohen gadol .


“That slave who knew his master’s will but did not prepare or act according to his desire will be harshly whipped.


So it will be in that day, I will respond —it is a declaration of adonai— I will respond to the skies, and they will respond to the earth,


“But the person who sins defiantly, whether native or outsider, reviles Adonai and that person is to be cut off from his people.


Or, if the raw flesh changes and turns white, then he must come to the kohen.
