So Jonathan informed David saying, “My father Saul is seeking to kill you. So now, please be on guard in the morning, and stay in a secret place and hide yourself.


So David said to Jonathan, “Look, tomorrow is the New Moon, when I am supposed to sit down with the king to eat. Instead, let me go hide myself in the countryside until the third evening.


Then Jonathan said to him, “Tomorrow is the New Moon. You’ll be missed because your seat will be empty.


I will shoot three arrows to the side of it, as though I were shooting at a target.


Now Saul told his son Jonathan and all his courtiers to kill David. But Saul’s son Jonathan delighted much in David.


It came to pass in the morning that Jonathan went out to the field at the time appointed with David, and a little lad was with him.
