He that oppresseth the poor reproacheth his Maker: But he that hath mercy on the needy honoureth him.


But whoso hath the world's goods, and beholdeth his brother in need, and shutteth up his compassion from him, how doth the love of God abide in him?


Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the LORD: Though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.


If I rejoiced at the destruction of him that hated me, Or lifted up myself when evil found him;


He that despiseth his neighbour sinneth: But he that hath pity on the poor, happy is he.


Rejoice with them that rejoice; weep with them that weep.

and say unto the children of Ammon, Hear the word of the Lord GOD Thus saith the Lord GOD Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was made desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity:


For the violence done to thy brother Jacob shame shall cover thee, and thou shalt be cut off for ever.
