“Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.


Create in me a clean heart, O God, and put a new and right spirit within me.


Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you men of double mind.


Yet the righteous holds to his way, and he that has clean hands grows stronger and stronger.


Truly God is good to the upright, to those who are pure in heart.


Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, and make holiness perfect in the fear of God.


I wash my hands in innocence, and go about thy altar, O Lord,


I desire then that in every place the men should pray, lifting holy hands without anger or quarreling;


and he made no distinction between us and them, but cleansed their hearts by faith.


The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands he recompensed me.


Let me hear in the morning of thy steadfast love, for in thee I put my trust. Teach me the way I should go, for to thee I lift up my soul.


in whose eyes a reprobate is despised, but who honors those who fear the Lord; who swears to his own hurt and does not change;


But nothing unclean shall enter it, nor any one who practices abomination or falsehood, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.


O Jerusalem, wash your heart from wickedness, that you may be saved. How long shall your evil thoughts lodge within you?


“Then I will draw near to you for judgment; I will be a swift witness against the sorcerers, against the adulterers, against those who swear falsely, against those who oppress the hireling in his wages, the widow and the orphan, against those who thrust aside the sojourner, and do not fear me, says the Lord of hosts.


if he does not eat upon the mountains or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman in her time of impurity,


Who can say, “I have made my heart clean; I am pure from my sin”?


To thee, O Lord, I lift up my soul.


If I wash myself with snow, and cleanse my hands with lye,


And beware lest you lift up your eyes to heaven, and when you see the sun and the moon and the stars, all the host of heaven, you be drawn away and worship them and serve them, things which the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples under the whole heaven.


“Men, why are you doing this? We also are men, of like nature with you, and bring you good news, that you should turn from these vain things to a living God who made the heaven and the earth and the sea and all that is in them.


The Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.


immoral persons, sodomites, kidnapers, liars, perjurers, and whatever else is contrary to sound doctrine,


who does not eat upon the mountains or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor's wife,


Though they say, “As the Lord lives,” yet they swear falsely.


Restore to me the joy of thy salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.
