Like the cold of snow in the time of harvest is a faithful messenger to those who send him, he refreshes the spirit of his masters.


Like vinegar to the teeth, and smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to those who send him.


A bad messenger plunges men into trouble, but a faithful envoy brings healing.


Then the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people; for they are stronger than we.”


Answer a fool according to his folly, lest he be wise in his own eyes.


Like a lame man's legs, which hang useless, is a proverb in the mouth of fools.
