My son, do not forget my teaching, but let your heart keep my commandments;


receive instruction in wise dealing, righteousness, justice, and equity;


Hear, O sons, a father's instruction, and be attentive, that you may gain insight;


My son, keep my words and treasure up my commandments with you;


Bind them upon your heart always; tie them about your neck.


I have not departed from the commandment of his lips; I have treasured in my bosom the words of his mouth.


Hear, my son, and accept my words, that the years of your life may be many.


But Mary kept all these things, pondering them in her heart.


“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up; then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.


The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;

And he went down with them and came to Nazareth, and was obedient to them; and his mother kept all these things in her heart.


So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.


Neither is it beyond the sea, that you should say, ‘Who will go over the sea for us, and bring it to us, that we may hear it and do it?’


Does not wisdom call, Does not understanding raise her voice?


Wisdom has built her house, she has set up her seven pillars.


He who keeps the law is a wise son, but a companion of gluttons shames his father.
