10 To whom shall I speak and give warning, that they may hear? Behold, their ears are closed, they cannot listen; behold, the word of the Lord is to them an object of scorn, they take no pleasure in it.

“You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.


The world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify of it that its works are evil.


yet they did not listen to me, or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers.


By faith Noah, being warned by God concerning events as yet unseen, took heed and constructed an ark for the saving of his household; by this he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which comes by faith.


Who has believed what we have heard? And to whom has the arm of the Lord been revealed?

Some of the Pharisees near him heard this, and they said to him, “Are we also blind?”


The scribes and the chief priests tried to lay hands on him at that very hour, but they feared the people; for they perceived that he had told this parable against them.


One of the lawyers answered him, “Teacher, in saying this you reproach us also.”


But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming for baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come?


Then Amaziah the priest of Bethel sent to Jeroboam king of Israel, saying, “Amos has conspired against you in the midst of the house of Israel; the land is not able to bear all his words.


But if you warn the wicked to turn from his way, and he does not turn from his way; he shall die in his iniquity, but you will have saved your life.


and if he sees the sword coming upon the land and blows the trumpet and warns the people;


Circumcise yourselves to the Lord, remove the foreskin of your hearts, O men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem; lest my wrath go forth like fire, and burn with none to quench it, because of the evil of your doings.”


I long for thy salvation, O Lord, and thy law is my delight.


Let thy mercy come to me, that I may live; for thy law is my delight.


their heart is gross like fat, but I delight in thy law.


Lead me in the path of thy commandments, for I delight in it.


Thy testimonies are my delight, they are my counselors.


I will delight in thy statutes; I will not forget thy word.


I delight to do thy will, O my God; thy law is within my heart.”


but his delight is in the law of the Lord, and on his law he meditates day and night.


but to this day the Lord has not given you a mind to understand, or eyes to see, or ears to hear.


“Hear this, O foolish and senseless people, who have eyes, but see not, who have ears, but hear not.


Egypt, Judah, Edom, the sons of Ammon, Moab, and all who dwell in the desert that cut the corners of their hair; for all these nations are uncircumcised, and all the house of Israel is uncircumcised in heart.”


He sees many things, but does not observe them; his ears are open, but he does not hear.


And now, because you have done all these things, says the Lord, and when I spoke to you persistently you did not listen, and when I called you, you did not answer,


“Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and say to the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction and listen to my words? says the Lord.


But the house of Israel will not listen to you; for they are not willing to listen to me; because all the house of Israel are of a hard forehead and of a stubborn heart.
