“As a thief is shamed when caught, so the house of Israel shall be shamed: they, their kings, their princes, their priests, and their prophets,


“I have heard the taunts of Moab and the revilings of the Ammonites, how they have taunted my people and made boasts against their territory.


“Thus says the Lord God: Because Moab said, Behold, the house of Judah is like all the other nations,


Then two robbers were crucified with him, one on the right and one on the left.


At that hour Jesus said to the crowds, “Have you come out as against a robber, with swords and clubs to capture me? Day after day I sat in the temple teaching, and you did not seize me.


For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and the measure you give will be the measure you get.


This shall be their lot in return for their pride, because they scoffed and boasted against the people of the Lord of hosts.


therefore, O mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord God: Thus says the Lord God to the mountains and the hills, the ravines and the valleys, the desolate wastes and the deserted cities, which have become a prey and derision to the rest of the nations round about;

As you rejoiced over the inheritance of the house of Israel, because it was desolate, so I will deal with you; you shall be desolate, Mount Seir, and all Edom, all of it. Then they will know that I am the Lord.


making their land a horror, a thing to be hissed at for ever. Every one who passes by it is horrified and shakes his head.


We have become a taunt to our neighbors, mocked and derided by those round about us.

I also could speak as you do, if you were in my place; I could join words together against you, and shake my head at you.
