The commandments, “You shall not commit adultery, You shall not kill, You shall not steal, You shall not covet,” and any other commandment, are summed up in this sentence, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”


Let the thief no longer steal, but rather let him labor, doing honest work with his hands, so that he may be able to give to those in need.


“You shall not steal, nor deal falsely, nor lie to one another.


“You shall not oppress your neighbor or rob him. The wages of a hired servant shall not remain with you all night until the morning.


He said to him, “Which?” And Jesus said, “You shall not kill, You shall not commit adultery, You shall not steal, You shall not bear false witness,


nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor robbers will inherit the kingdom of God.


This he said, not that he cared for the poor but because he was a thief, and as he had the money box he used to take what was put into it.


A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight.


“If a man is found stealing one of his brethren, the people of Israel, and if he treats him as a slave or sells him, then that thief shall die; so you shall purge the evil from the midst of you.


that no man transgress, and wrong his brother in this matter, because the Lord is an avenger in all these things, as we solemnly forewarned you.


He said to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be called a house of prayer’; but you make it a den of robbers.”


Their hands are upon what is evil, to do it diligently; the prince and the judge ask for a bribe, and the great man utters the evil desire of his soul; thus they weave it together.


“They do not know how to do right,” says the Lord, “those who store up violence and robbery in their strongholds.”


“Whoever steals a man, whether he sells him or is found in possession of him, shall be put to death.


For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, fornication, theft, false witness, slander.
