So I saw that there is nothing better than that a man should enjoy his work, for that is his lot; who can bring him to see what will be after him?


a time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;


The end of the matter; all has been heard. Fear God, and keep his commandments; for this is the whole duty of man.


“Because you did not serve the Lord your God with joyfulness and gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things,


And he humbled you and let you hunger and fed you with manna, which you did not know, nor did your fathers know; that he might make you know that man does not live by bread alone, but that man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the Lord.


O Lord, thy hand is lifted up, but they see it not. Let them see thy zeal for thy people, and be ashamed. Let the fire for thy adversaries consume them.


Is any one among you suffering? Let him pray. Is any cheerful? Let him sing praise.


Go and learn what this means, ‘I desire mercy, and not sacrifice.’ For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.”


The voice of the Lord cries to the city— and it is sound wisdom to fear thy name: “Hear, O tribe and assembly of the city!


The anger of the Lord will not turn back until he has executed and accomplished the intents of his mind. In the latter days you will understand it clearly.


It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn thy statutes.


strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God.


He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

But he said to her, “You speak as one of the foolish women would speak. Shall we receive good at the hand of God, and shall we not receive evil?” In all this Job did not sin with his lips.


For he does not know what is to be, for who can tell him how it will be?


Go, eat your bread with enjoyment, and drink your wine with a merry heart; for God has already approved what you do.


A fool multiplies words, though no man knows what is to be, and who can tell him what will be after him?


Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart and the sight of your eyes. But know that for all these things God will bring you into judgment.


and spent all his days in darkness and grief, in much vexation and sickness and resentment?


Is it not from the mouth of the Most High that good and evil come?
