21 while I was speaking in prayer, the man Gabriel, whom I had seen in the vision at the first, came to me in swift flight at the time of the evening sacrifice.

And the angel answered him, “I am Gabriel, who stand in the presence of God; and I was sent to speak to you, and to bring you this good news.

Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to serve, for the sake of those who are to obtain salvation?


About the ninth hour of the day he saw clearly in a vision an angel of God coming in and saying to him, “Cornelius.”


Again one having the appearance of a man touched me and strengthened me.


As he was speaking to me, I fell into a deep sleep with my face to the ground; but he touched me and set me on my feet.


Above him stood the seraphim; each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.


Bless the Lord, O you his angels, you mighty ones who do his word, hearkening to the voice of his word!


One lamb you shall offer in the morning, and the other lamb you shall offer in the evening;


Of the angels he says, “Who makes his angels winds, and his servants flames of fire.”


and behold, an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in the cell; and he struck Peter on the side and woke him, saying, “Get up quickly.” And the chains fell off his hands.


The next day, as they were on their journey and coming near the city, Peter went up on the housetop to pray, about the sixth hour.


Now Peter and John were going up to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.


And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, “Eli, Eli, lama sabach-thani?” that is, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?”


And behold, a hand touched me and set me trembling on my hands and knees.


And the living creatures darted to and fro, like a flash of lightning.


Such were their faces. And their wings were spread out above; each creature had two wings, each of which touched the wing of another, while two covered their bodies.


who makest the winds thy messengers, fire and flame thy ministers.


In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth,


And this was how I saw the horses in my vision: the riders wore breastplates the color of fire and of sapphire and of sulphur, and the heads of the horses were like lions' heads, and fire and smoke and sulphur issued from their mouths.


Let my prayer be counted as incense before thee, and the lifting up of my hands as an evening sacrifice!


even if these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, were in it, they would deliver but their own lives by their righteousness, says the Lord God.


And as midday passed, they raved on until the time of the offering of the oblation, but there was no voice; no one answered, no one heeded.
