love one another with brotherly affection; outdo one another in showing honor.


Having purified your souls by your obedience to the truth for a sincere love of the brethren, love one another earnestly from the heart.


Let all bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slander be put away from you, with all malice,


But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity.


with all lowliness and meekness, with patience, forbearing one another in love,


“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy each to his brother,


Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience,


If one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together.


and should not you have had mercy on your fellow servant, as I had mercy on you?’


We know that we have passed out of death into life, because we love the brethren. He who does not love abides in death.


I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.


Now the company of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things which he possessed was his own, but they had everything in common.


Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”


Let brotherly love continue.


and godliness with brotherly affection, and brotherly affection with love.


Honor all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor.


As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him.


Behold, we call those happy who were steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.


For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy; yet mercy triumphs over judgment.


Only let us hold true to what we have attained.


May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
