But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.


For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh; for these are opposed to each other, to prevent you from doing what you would.


So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was a delight to the eyes, and that the tree was to be desired to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate; and she also gave some to her husband, and he ate.


Sheol and Abaddon are never satisfied, and never satisfied are the eyes of man.


Among these we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, following the desires of body and mind, and so we were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind.


This wisdom is not such as comes down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish.

training us to renounce irreligion and worldly passions, and to live sober, upright, and godly lives in this world,


They tested God in their heart by demanding the food they craved.


For, uttering loud boasts of folly, they entice with licentious passions of the flesh men who have barely escaped from those who live in error.


As obedient children, do not be conformed to the passions of your former ignorance,


For we ourselves were once foolish, disobedient, led astray, slaves to various passions and pleasures, passing our days in malice and envy, hated by men and hating one another;


But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.


Therefore pride is their necklace; violence covers them as a garment.


“I have made a covenant with my eyes; how then could I look upon a virgin?


And the devil took him up, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time,


And those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.


Now the rabble that was among them had a strong craving; and the people of Israel also wept again, and said, “O that we had meat to eat!


Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain, and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and the glory of them;


But before they had sated their craving, while the food was still in their mouths,


Therefore the name of that place was called Kibroth-hattaavah, because there they buried the people who had the craving.


Do not desire her beauty in your heart, and do not let her capture you with her eyelashes;


Now these things are warnings for us, not to desire evil as they did.


the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair; and they took to wife such of them as they chose.


and the king said, “Is not this great Babylon, which I have built by my mighty power as a royal residence and for the glory of my majesty?”


As it is, you boast in your arrogance. All such boasting is evil.
