A perverse man spreads strife, and a whisperer separates close friends.


Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease.


The words of a whisperer are like delicious morsels; they go down into the inner parts of the body.


You shall not go up and down as a slanderer among your people, and you shall not stand forth against the life of your neighbor: I am the Lord.


So the tongue is a little member and boasts of great things. How great a forest is set ablaze by a small fire!


And the tongue is a fire. The tongue is an unrighteous world among our members, staining the whole body, setting on fire the cycle of nature, and set on fire by hell.
