13 After the wise men had left, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up!” the angel said. “Take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt! Stay there until I tell you to come back, because Herod is going to try to find the child and kill him.”

Then Peter realized what had happened. He said, “Now I know for sure that the Lord sent his angel to rescue me from Herod’s control. He has saved me from everything the Jewish people expected would happen.”


When the angel who was speaking with him had left, Cornelius called in two of his servants and a godly soldier who was one of his attendants.


But during the night an angel of the Lord came and opened the doors of the jail and let the apostles out.


But because they were warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by a different way.


But as Joseph was thinking about this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream. The angel said, “Joseph, son of David, don’t be afraid to take Mary home as your wife. The baby inside her is from the Holy Spirit.


When Herod realized that the wise men had tricked him, he became very angry. He gave orders to kill all the boys two years old and younger who were living in Bethlehem and the area around it. This was because the wise men had first seen the star two years earlier.


The woman was given the two wings of a great eagle so she could fly away to the place prepared for her in the desert. There she would be taken care of for three and a half years, and she’d be out of the serpent’s reach.


The jailer told Paul, “The judges have ordered me to set you and Silas free. You can leave now. Go in peace.”


The men answered, “We’ve come from Cornelius, a Roman commander. He’s a good man who worships God. All the Jewish people respect him. A holy angel told him to invite you to his house so he could hear what you have to say.”


That king was very dishonest with our people and he treated them badly. He even forced them to abandon their babies so they would die.


If people attack you in one place, escape to another. Truly I tell you, you won’t finish going through the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.


and the woman escaped into the desert, where God had prepared a place for her. There she would be taken care of for 1,260 days.


The dragon’s tail swept a third of the stars out of the sky and threw them down to the earth. The dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to have a baby, because he wanted to devour her child the moment he was born.


But when he learned that Archelaus had succeeded his father Herod as king of Judea, he was afraid to go there. He was warned in a dream, and he went back to the land of Galilee instead.


So Joseph got up in the night and left for Egypt with the child and his mother.


Suddenly an angel of the Lord appeared, and a light shone in Peter’s cell. The angel struck him on his side to wake him up. “Quick, get up!” he said, and the chains fell off Peter’s wrists.
