By faith Sarah was able to become a mother even when she was too old to have children. God had promised this would happen, and Sarah believed that he was faithful.


Abraham’s faith didn’t become any weaker even when he thought about the fact that he was now too old have children (he was about 100 years old) and that Sarah had never been able to have children.


During the time when Herod was king of Judea, there was a priest named Zechariah. He belonged to the group of priests named after Abijah. His wife was named Elizabeth, and she also came from the line of priests descended from Aaron.


Both of them did what was right in God’s sight; they obeyed all of the Lord’s commands and instructions faithfully.


One day Zechariah’s group was on duty, and he was serving as a priest in God’s temple.
