My God, deliver me from those that are mine enemies; And do thou me defend from those that up against me rise.


O Lord, upon me mercy have, for trouble is on me: Mine eye, my belly, and my soul, with grief consumed be.


Lord, keep me; for I trust in thee.


O Lord, thou hast rejected us, and scatter'd us abroad; Thou justly hast displeased been; return to us, O God.


When as mine enemies and foes, most wicked persons all, To eat my flesh against me rose, they stumbled and did fall.


And of thy mercy slay my foes; let all destroyed be That do afflict my soul: for I a servant am to thee.


But Phar'oh and his host did drown: for mercy hath he ever.


Who Egypt's first-born kill'd outright: for his grace faileth never.


They had us swallow'd quick, when as their wrath 'gainst us did flame:


Do ye, O congregation, indeed speak righteousness? O ye that are the sons of men, judge ye with uprightness?


Nor let them say within their hearts, Ah, we would have it thus; Nor suffer them to say, that he is swallow'd up by us.


Like fiery ov'n thou shalt them make, when kindled is thine ire; God shall them swallow in his wrath, devour them shall the fire.


Therefore the earth did open wide, and Dathan did devour, And all Abiram's company did cover in that hour.


He of my mercy that is God betimes shall me prevent; Upon mine en'mies God shall let me see mine heart's content.
