My bitter en'mies all the day reproaches cast on me; And, being mad at me, with rage against me sworn they be.


Yea, they that seek my life lay snares: who seek to do me wrong Speak things mischievous, and deceits imagine all day long.


For my transgressions I confess; my sin I ever see.


Behold, thou in the inward parts with truth delighted art; And wisdom thou shalt make me know within the hidden part.


They daily would me swallow up that hate me spitefully; For they be many that do fight against me, O most High.


My cry I will cause to ascend unto the Lord most high; To God, who doth all things for me perform most perfectly.


That th' earth thy way, and nations all may know thy saving grace.


Sith unto thee I daily cry, be merciful to me.


O turn to me thy countenance, and mercy on me have; Thy servant strengthen, and the son of thine own handmaid save.
