Consider mine affliction, in safety do me set: Deliver me, O Lord, for I thy law do not forget.


When in me was o'erwhelm'd my sp'rit, then well thou knew'st my way; Where I did walk a snare for me they privily did lay.


Thou, Lord, who great adversities, and sore, to me didst show, Shalt quicken, and bring me again from depths of earth below.


But I have all my confidence thy mercy set upon; My heart within me shall rejoice in thy salvation.


Lord, pity me; behold the grief which I from foes sustain; Ev'n thou, who from the gates of death dost raise me up again;


For why? the way of godly men unto the Lord is known: Whereas the way of wicked men shall quite be overthrown.


O with thy tender mercies, Lord, us early satisfy; So we rejoice shall all our days, and still be glad in thee.


See mine affliction and my pain, and all my sins forgive.


Thou hast it seen; for their mischief and spite thou wilt repay: The poor commits himself to thee; thou art the orphan's stay.
