And in the day of my distress hide not thy face from me. Give ear to me; what time I call, to answer me make haste:


O Lord, do thou bow down thine ear, and hear me graciously; Because I sore afflicted am, and am in poverty.


My voice, Lord, do thou hear: Unto my supplication's voice give an attentive ear.


Haste, Lord, to hear, my spirit fails: hide not thy face from me; Lest like to them I do become that go down to the dust.


But of my refuge God's the rock, and my defence from them.


Because the Lord, who constantly my refuge is alone, Ev'n the most High, is made by thee thy habitation;


Lord, thou hast been our dwelling-place in generations all.


O God, the heathen enter'd have thine heritage; by them Defiled is thy house: on heaps they laid Jerusalem.


Nor from thy servant hide thy face: I'm troubled, soon attend.


In God my glory placed is, and my salvation sure; In God the rock is of my strength, my refuge most secure.


I'm poor and needy, yet the Lord of me a care doth take: Thou art my help and saviour, my God, no tarrying make.


Lest that the enemy my soul should, like a lion, tear, In pieces rending it, while there is no deliverer.


O Lord, I trust in thee: My God, let me not be asham'd, nor foes triumph o'er me.
