My foes shall, when I cry, turn back; I know't, God is for me.


The Lord my God my helper is, lo, therefore I am bold: He taketh part with ev'ry one that doth my soul uphold.


In my distress to God I cry'd, and he gave ear to me.


Unless the Lord had been my help when I was sore opprest, Almost my soul had in the house of silence been at rest.


I to the hills will lift mine eyes, from whence doth come mine aid.


They in the Lord that firmly trust shall be like Sion hill, Which at no time can be remov'd, but standeth ever still.


The Lord of hosts upon our side doth constantly remain: The God of Jacob's our refuge, us safely to maintain.


The Lord's my light and saving health, who shall make me dismay'd? My life's strength is the Lord, of whom then shall I be afraid?


Except the Lord do build the house, the builders lose their pain: Except the Lord the city keep, the watchmen watch in vain.


Oft did they vex me from my youth, may Isr'el now declare;


Lord, from the depths to thee I cry'd.


Bless'd is each one that fears the Lord, and walketh in his ways;


Behold, how good a thing it is, and how becoming well, Together such as brethren are in unity to dwell!


When Sion's bondage God turn'd back, as men that dream'd were we.


David, and his afflictions all, Lord, do thou think upon;


O thou that dwellest in the heav'ns, I lift mine eyes to thee.


I joy'd when to the house of God, Go up, they said to me.


Our God, who is the Lord of hosts, is still upon our side; The God of Jacob our refuge for ever will abide.


Behold, bless ye the Lord, all ye that his attendants are, Ev'n you that in God's temple be, and praise him nightly there.


My heart not haughty is, O Lord, mine eyes not lofty be; Nor do I deal in matters great, or things too high for me.


In God his word I'll praise; his word in God shall praised be.
