As for God, perfect is his way: the Lord his word is try'd; He is a buckler to all those who do in him confide.


The statutes of the Lord are right, and do rejoice the heart: The Lord's command is pure, and doth light to the eyes impart.


For thou didst prove and try us, Lord, as men do silver try;


Thy word's most pure, therefore on it thy servant's love is set.


Lord, pity me; behold the grief which I from foes sustain; Ev'n thou, who from the gates of death dost raise me up again;


Surely the very wrath of man unto thy praise redounds: Thou to the remnant of his wrath wilt set restraining bounds.
