The wicked have drawn out the sword, and bent their bow, to slay The poor and needy, and to kill men of an upright way.


Thou therefore shalt make them turn back, when thou thy shafts shalt place Upon thy strings, made ready all to fly against their face.


When in me was o'erwhelm'd my sp'rit, then well thou knew'st my way; Where I did walk a snare for me they privily did lay.


Do thou to all those that be good thy goodness, Lord, impart; And do thou good to those that are upright within their heart.


For all those that be righteous sown is a joyful light, And gladness sown is for all those that are in heart upright.


But judgment unto righteousness shall yet return again; And all shall follow after it that are right-hearted men.


In God the righteous shall rejoice, and trust upon his might; Yea, they shall greatly glory all in heart that are upright.


Ye righteous, in the Lord be glad, in him do ye rejoice: All ye that upright are in heart, for joy lift up your voice.


The wicked in his loftiness doth persecute the poor: In these devices they have fram'd let them be taken sure.


If he do not return again, then he his sword will whet; His bow he hath already bent, and hath it ready set:


In God, who saves th' upright in heart, is my defence and stay.
