Matthew 2:16 - New Revised Standard Version

16 When Herod saw that he had been tricked by the wise men, he was infuriated, and he sent and killed all the children in and around Bethlehem who were two years old or under, according to the time that he had learned from the wise men.

Then Herod secretly called for the wise men and learned from them the exact time when the star had appeared.


Then was fulfilled what had been spoken through the prophet Jeremiah:


His tail swept down a third of the stars of heaven and threw them to the earth. Then the dragon stood before the woman who was about to bear a child, so that he might devour her child as soon as it was born.
