Jesus said to them, “The light is with you for a little longer. Walk while you have the light, so that the darkness may not overtake you. If you walk in the darkness, you do not know where you are going.


He said this to indicate the kind of death he was to die.


And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”


Then he will say to those at his left hand, ‘You that are accursed, depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels;


For I tell you, you will not see me again until you say, ‘Blessed is the one who comes in the name of the Lord.’ ”


No more shall there be in it an infant that lives but a few days, or an old person who does not live out a lifetime; for one who dies at a hundred years will be considered a youth, and one who falls short of a hundred will be considered accursed.


The wicked are overthrown by their evildoing, but the righteous find a refuge in their integrity.


When the wicked die, their hope perishes, and the expectation of the godless comes to nothing.


Their bodies, once full of youth, will lie down in the dust with them.


As the Lord your God lives, there is no nation or kingdom to which my lord has not sent to seek you; and when they would say, ‘He is not here,’ he would require an oath of the kingdom or nation, that they had not found you.


What does he mean by saying, ‘You will search for me and you will not find me’ and ‘Where I am, you cannot come’?”
