The words of Jeremiah son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,


abstain from every form of evil.


When they persecute you in one town, flee to the next; for truly I tell you, you will not have gone through all the towns of Israel before the Son of Man comes.


But I said, “Should a man like me run away? Would a man like me go into the temple to save his life? I will not go in!”


From the tribe of Benjamin, Geba with its pasture lands, Alemeth with its pasture lands, and Anathoth with its pasture lands. All their towns throughout their families were thirteen.


At that place he came to a cave, and spent the night there. Then the word of the Lord came to him, saying, “What are you doing here, Elijah?”


Then he was afraid; he got up and fled for his life, and came to Beer-sheba, which belongs to Judah; he left his servant there.


Now when the Chaldean army had withdrawn from Jerusalem at the approach of Pharaoh's army,


truly, I would flee far away; I would lodge in the wilderness; Selah
