who rejoice in doing evil and delight in the perverseness of evil;


To the pure all things are pure, but to the corrupt and unbelieving nothing is pure. Their very minds and consciences are corrupted.


As it is, you boast in your arrogance; all such boasting is evil.


it does not rejoice in wrongdoing, but rejoices in the truth.


As regards the gospel they are enemies of God for your sake; but as regards election they are beloved, for the sake of their ancestors;


When he saw Jesus, he fell down before him and shouted at the top of his voice, “What have you to do with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, do not torment me”—


“But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing a wedding robe,


The Lord said to me again, “Go, love a woman who has a lover and is an adulteress, just as the Lord loves the people of Israel, though they turn to other gods and love raisin cakes.”


Then the Lord said to me: Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, yet my heart would not turn toward this people. Send them out of my sight, and let them go!


I have forsaken my house, I have abandoned my heritage; I have given the beloved of my heart into the hands of her enemies.


Return, O faithless children, says the Lord, for I am your master; I will take you, one from a city and two from a family, and I will bring you to Zion.


She saw that for all the adulteries of that faithless one, Israel, I had sent her away with a decree of divorce; yet her false sister Judah did not fear, but she too went and played the whore.


Go and proclaim in the hearing of Jerusalem, Thus says the Lord: I remember the devotion of your youth, your love as a bride, how you followed me in the wilderness, in a land not sown.


Thus says the Lord: Where is your mother's bill of divorce with which I put her away? Or which of my creditors is it to whom I have sold you? No, because of your sins you were sold, and for your transgressions your mother was put away.


When one will not listen to the law, even one's prayers are an abomination.


Like a maniac who shoots deadly firebrands and arrows,


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when brought with evil intent.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


Doing wrong is like sport to a fool, but wise conduct is pleasure to a person of understanding.


But to the wicked God says: “What right have you to recite my statutes, or take my covenant on your lips?


Give victory with your right hand, and answer us, so that those whom you love may be rescued.


I have seen your abominations, your adulteries and neighings, your shameless prostitutions on the hills of the countryside. Woe to you, O Jerusalem! How long will it be before you are made clean?


Both prophet and priest are ungodly; even in my house I have found their wickedness, says the Lord.
