23 You have not brought me your sheep for burnt offerings, or honored me with your sacrifices. I have not burdened you with offerings, or wearied you with frankincense.

Did you bring to me sacrifices and offerings the forty years in the wilderness, O house of Israel?


For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”


Will anyone rob God? Yet you are robbing me! But you say, “How are we robbing you?” In your tithes and offerings!


For in the day that I brought your ancestors out of the land of Egypt, I did not speak to them or command them concerning burnt offerings and sacrifices.


Whoever slaughters an ox is like one who kills a human being; whoever sacrifices a lamb, like one who breaks a dog's neck; whoever presents a grain offering, like one who offers swine's blood; whoever makes a memorial offering of frankincense, like one who blesses an idol. These have chosen their own ways, and in their abominations they take delight;


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination; how much more when brought with evil intent.


The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.


When anyone presents a grain offering to the Lord, the offering shall be of choice flour; the worshiper shall pour oil on it, and put frankincense on it,


The Lord said to Moses: Take sweet spices, stacte, and onycha, and galbanum, sweet spices with pure frankincense (an equal part of each),


You shall put pure frankincense with each row, to be a token offering for the bread, as an offering by fire to the Lord.


Honor the Lord with your substance and with the first fruits of all your produce;


Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Add your burnt offerings to your sacrifices, and eat the flesh.


“O my people, what have I done to you? In what have I wearied you? Answer me!


I also found out that the portions of the Levites had not been given to them; so that the Levites and the singers, who had conducted the service, had gone back to their fields.
