Wail, O ships of Tarshish, for your fortress is destroyed.


the God who girded me with strength, and made my way safe.


He pours contempt on princes, and looses the belt of the strong.


Immediately Saul fell full length on the ground, filled with fear because of the words of Samuel; and there was no strength in him, for he had eaten nothing all day and all night.

He has stretched out his hand over the sea, he has shaken the kingdoms; the Lord has given command concerning Canaan to destroy its fortresses.


Now the coastlands tremble on the day of your fall; the coastlands by the sea are dismayed at your passing.
