I too decided, after investigating everything carefully from the very first, to write an orderly account for you, most excellent Theophilus,


He asked them, “What things?” They replied, “The things about Jesus of Nazareth, who was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people,


Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his work. He was the son (as was thought) of Joseph son of Heli,


the blind receive their sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the poor have good news brought to them.


“You that are Israelites, listen to what I have to say: Jesus of Nazareth, a man attested to you by God with deeds of power, wonders, and signs that God did through him among you, as you yourselves know—


After those days his wife Elizabeth conceived, and for five months she remained in seclusion. She said,


And the slave said, ‘Sir, what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.’
