6 Yet among the mature we do speak wisdom, though it is not a wisdom of this age or of the rulers of this age, who are doomed to perish.

But solid food is for the mature, for those whose faculties have been trained by practice to distinguish good from evil.


Such wisdom does not come down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish.


In their case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.


And after you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, support, strengthen, and establish you.


None of the rulers of this age understood this; for if they had, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.


God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are,


Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ Jesus, greets you. He is always wrestling in his prayers on your behalf, so that you may stand mature and fully assured in everything that God wills.


in which you once lived, following the course of this world, following the ruler of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work among those who are disobedient.


Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.


Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with frankness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you.


The Lord brings the counsel of the nations to nothing; he frustrates the plans of the peoples.


He pours contempt on princes, and looses the belt of the strong.


He leads priests away stripped, and overthrows the mighty.


There was once a man in the land of Uz whose name was Job. That man was blameless and upright, one who feared God and turned away from evil.


For all of us make many mistakes. Anyone who makes no mistakes in speaking is perfect, able to keep the whole body in check with a bridle.


Finally, brothers and sisters, farewell. Put things in order, listen to my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.


Brothers and sisters, do not be children in your thinking; rather, be infants in evil, but in thinking be adults.


And we speak of these things in words not taught by human wisdom but taught by the Spirit, interpreting spiritual things to those who are spiritual.

When their breath departs, they return to the earth; on that very day their plans perish.


And so, brothers and sisters, I could not speak to you as spiritual people, but rather as people of the flesh, as infants in Christ.


To one is given through the Spirit the utterance of wisdom, and to another the utterance of knowledge according to the same Spirit,


And even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing.


It is he whom we proclaim, warning everyone and teaching everyone in all wisdom, so that we may present everyone mature in Christ.


Therefore let us go on toward perfection, leaving behind the basic teaching about Christ, and not laying again the foundation: repentance from dead works and faith toward God,
