In the beginning when God created the heavens and the earth,


By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and all their host by the breath of his mouth.


Great are the works of the Lord, studied by all who delight in them.


You have made the moon to mark the seasons; the sun knows its time for setting.


The heavens are yours, the earth also is yours; the world and all that is in it—you have founded them.


Ever since the creation of the world his eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things he has made. So they are without excuse;


But if it is by the finger of God that I cast out the demons, then the kingdom of God has come to you.


And the magicians said to Pharaoh, “This is the finger of God!” But Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.


“Is not God high in the heavens? See the highest stars, how lofty they are!


And when you look up to the heavens and see the sun, the moon, and the stars, all the host of heaven, do not be led astray and bow down to them and serve them, things that the Lord your God has allotted to all the peoples everywhere under heaven.


When God finished speaking with Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant, tablets of stone, written with the finger of God.


Praise him, sun and moon; praise him, all you shining stars!


The heavens are telling the glory of God; and the firmament proclaims his handiwork.


If even the moon is not bright and the stars are not pure in his sight,


Is there any number to his armies? Upon whom does his light not arise?


“Remember to extol his work, of which mortals have sung.
