Answer me quickly, O Lord; my spirit fails. Do not hide your face from me, or I shall be like those who go down to the Pit.


The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

O God, do not keep silence; do not hold your peace or be still, O God!


and threw him into the pit, and locked and sealed it over him, so that he would deceive the nations no more, until the thousand years were ended. After that he must be let out for a little while.

For Sheol cannot thank you, death cannot praise you; those who go down to the Pit cannot hope for your faithfulness.


You have seen, O Lord; do not be silent! O Lord, do not be far from me!


“What profit is there in my death, if I go down to the Pit? Will the dust praise you? Will it tell of your faithfulness?


O my God, I cry by day, but you do not answer; and by night, but find no rest.


I cry aloud to the Lord, and he answers me from his holy hill. Selah


I cry aloud to God, aloud to God, that he may hear me.


Do not let the flood sweep over me, or the deep swallow me up, or the Pit close its mouth over me.


Listen to the sound of my cry, my King and my God, for to you I pray.


With my voice I cry to the Lord; with my voice I make supplication to the Lord.


“Hear my prayer, O Lord, and give ear to my cry; do not hold your peace at my tears. For I am your passing guest, an alien, like all my forebears.


I say to God, my rock, “Why have you forgotten me? Why must I walk about mournfully because the enemy oppresses me?”


Sing praises to the Lord, O you his faithful ones, and give thanks to his holy name.


I pour out my complaint before him; I tell my trouble before him.
