The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack and save me for his heavenly kingdom. To him be the glory forever and ever. Amen.


Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord.


Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I fear no evil; for you are with me; your rod and your staff— they comfort me.


And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: Blessed are the dead who from now on die in the Lord.” “Yes,” says the Spirit, “they will rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them.”


I wait for your salvation, O Lord.


Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death so that we would rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.


for though they fall seven times, they will rise again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.


Mark the blameless, and behold the upright, for there is posterity for the peaceable.


See, he will kill me; I have no hope; but I will defend my ways to his face.


When they say, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them, as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and there will be no escape!


I am hard pressed between the two: my desire is to depart and be with Christ, for that is far better;


For to me, living is Christ and dying is gain.


What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience the objects of wrath that are made for destruction;


I told you that you would die in your sins, for you will die in your sins unless you believe that I am he.”


Again he said to them, “I am going away, and you will search for me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”


“Master, now you are dismissing your servant in peace, according to your word;


on such a one calamity will descend suddenly; in a moment, damage beyond repair.


Sooner than your pots can feel the heat of thorns, whether green or ablaze, may he sweep them away!


As for me, I shall behold your face in righteousness; when I awake I shall be satisfied, beholding your likeness.


You show me the path of life. In your presence there is fullness of joy; in your right hand are pleasures forevermore.


They are thrust from light into darkness, and driven out of the world.


You guide me with your counsel, and afterward you will receive me with honor.


Wisdom is at home in the mind of one who has understanding, but it is not known in the heart of fools.


The iniquities of the wicked ensnare them, and they are caught in the toils of their sin.


The righteousness of the blameless keeps their ways straight, but the wicked fall by their own wickedness.
