Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your minds, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.


And may he so strengthen your hearts in holiness that you may be blameless before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.


May the God of peace himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.


and know his will and determine what is best because you are instructed in the law,


Try to find out what is pleasing to the Lord.


Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God; for many false prophets have gone out into the world.


I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.


but test everything; hold fast to what is good;


He will also strengthen you to the end, so that you may be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.


“I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance. I know that you cannot tolerate evildoers; you have tested those who claim to be apostles but are not, and have found them to be false.


so as to present the church to himself in splendor, without a spot or wrinkle or anything of the kind—yes, so that she may be holy and without blemish.


When Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him, he said of him, “Here is truly an Israelite in whom there is no deceit!”


But he turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.”


“Now therefore revere the Lord, and serve him in sincerity and in faithfulness; put away the gods that your ancestors served beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the Lord.


Indeed, this is our boast, the testimony of our conscience: we have behaved in the world with frankness and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God—and all the more toward you.


Let love be genuine; hate what is evil, hold fast to what is good;


For this reason the mind that is set on the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law—indeed it cannot,


Peter said to him, “Though all become deserters because of you, I will never desert you.”


you who hate the good and love the evil, who tear the skin off my people, and the flesh off their bones;


for the ear tests words as the palate tastes food.


Does not the ear test words as the palate tastes food?


Did he not himself say to me, ‘She is my sister’? And she herself said, ‘He is my brother.’ I did this in the integrity of my heart and the innocence of my hands.”


These proclaim Christ out of love, knowing that I have been put here for the defense of the gospel;


Grace be with all who have an undying love for our Lord Jesus Christ.


But speaking the truth in love, we must grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,


But my friends, why am I still being persecuted if I am still preaching circumcision? In that case the offense of the cross has been removed.


I do not say this as a command, but I am testing the genuineness of your love against the earnestness of others.


We are putting no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry,


For we are not peddlers of God's word like so many; but in Christ we speak as persons of sincerity, as persons sent from God and standing in his presence.


Give no offense to Jews or to Greeks or to the church of God,


Therefore, if food is a cause of their falling, I will never eat meat, so that I may not cause one of them to fall.


I urge you, brothers and sisters, to keep an eye on those who cause dissensions and offenses, in opposition to the teaching that you have learned; avoid them.


For I delight in the law of God in my inmost self,


Now if I do what I do not want, I agree that the law is good.


Therefore I do my best always to have a clear conscience toward God and all people.


For all who do evil hate the light and do not come to the light, so that their deeds may not be exposed.


It is by your holding fast to the word of life that I can boast on the day of Christ that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
