“Let the Lord, the God of the spirits of all flesh, appoint someone over the congregation


An Oracle. The word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus says the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the human spirit within:


In his hand is the life of every living thing and the breath of every human being.


Moreover, we had human parents to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not be even more willing to be subject to the Father of spirits and live?


and the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the breath returns to God who gave it.


Therefore just as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all.


For I will not continually accuse, nor will I always be angry; for then the spirits would grow faint before me, even the souls that I have made.


When David saw the angel who was destroying the people, he said to the Lord, “I alone have sinned, and I alone have done wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Let your hand, I pray, be against me and against my father's house.”


“Get away from this congregation, so that I may consume them in a moment.” And they fell on their faces.


Then Moses and Aaron fell on their faces before all the assembly of the congregation of the Israelites.


Then he said, “Oh do not let the Lord be angry if I speak just once more. Suppose ten are found there.” He answered, “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”


It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.


Again the anger of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he incited David against them, saying, “Go, count the people of Israel and Judah.”


When Moses heard it, he fell on his face.


If it is the anointed priest who sins, thus bringing guilt on the people, he shall offer for the sin that he has committed a bull of the herd without blemish as a sin offering to the Lord.


And Moses said to Aaron and to his sons Eleazar and Ithamar, “Do not dishevel your hair, and do not tear your vestments, or you will die and wrath will strike all the congregation; but your kindred, the whole house of Israel, may mourn the burning that the Lord has sent.


And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:


that you must turn away today from following the Lord! If you rebel against the Lord today, he will be angry with the whole congregation of Israel tomorrow.


See, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh; is anything too hard for me?


So King Zedekiah swore an oath in secret to Jeremiah, “As the Lord lives, who gave us our lives, I will not put you to death or hand you over to these men who seek your life.”


Know that all lives are mine; the life of the parent as well as the life of the child is mine: it is only the person who sins that shall die.


Moses and Aaron were among his priests, Samuel also was among those who called on his name. They cried to the Lord, and he answered them.
