See what love the Father has given us, that we should be called children of God; and that is what we are. The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.


Moreover, we had human parents to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not be even more willing to be subject to the Father of spirits and live?


A son honors his father, and servants their master. If then I am a father, where is the honor due me? And if I am a master, where is the respect due me? says the Lord of hosts to you, O priests, who despise my name. You say, “How have we despised your name?”


If you then, who are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!


For though you might have ten thousand guardians in Christ, you do not have many fathers. Indeed, in Christ Jesus I became your father through the gospel.

Elisha kept watching and crying out, “Father, father! The chariots of Israel and its horsemen!” But when he could no longer see him, he grasped his own clothes and tore them in two pieces.


For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.


Now when Elisha had fallen sick with the illness of which he was to die, King Joash of Israel went down to him, and wept before him, crying, “My father, my father! The chariots of Israel and its horsemen!”


When the king of Israel saw them he said to Elisha, “Father, shall I kill them? Shall I kill them?”


Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one instructor, the Messiah.
