When they opposed and reviled him, in protest he shook the dust from his clothes and said to them, “Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”


While you have the light, believe in the light, so that you may become children of light.” After Jesus had said this, he departed and hid from them.


Again he said to them, “I am going away, and you will search for me, but you will die in your sin. Where I am going, you cannot come.”


Then all the people of the surrounding country of the Gerasenes asked Jesus to leave them; for they were seized with great fear. So he got into the boat and returned.


Let them alone; they are blind guides of the blind. And if one blind person guides another, both will fall into a pit.”


“Do not give what is holy to dogs; and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under foot and turn and maul you.


Even if they bring up children, I will bereave them until no one is left. Woe to them indeed when I depart from them!


Ephraim is joined to idols— let him alone.


When this people, or a prophet, or a priest asks you, “What is the burden of the Lord?” you shall say to them, “You are the burden, and I will cast you off, says the Lord.”


So I gave them over to their stubborn hearts, to follow their own counsels.


And he sighed deeply in his spirit and said, “Why does this generation ask for a sign? Truly I tell you, no sign will be given to this generation.”


Now the disciples had forgotten to bring any bread; and they had only one loaf with them in the boat.
