At that time his voice shook the earth; but now he has promised, “Yet once more I will shake not only the earth but also the heaven.”


For thus says the Lord of hosts: Once again, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth and the sea and the dry land;


to enter the caverns of the rocks and the clefts in the crags, from the terror of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth.


When the earth totters, with all its inhabitants, it is I who keep its pillars steady. Selah


Enter the caves of the rocks and the holes of the ground, from the terror of the Lord, and from the glory of his majesty, when he rises to terrify the earth.


The pillars of heaven tremble, and are astounded at his rebuke.


Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying, I am about to shake the heavens and the earth,


Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Lord, at the presence of the God of Jacob,


Then I saw a great white throne and the one who sat on it; the earth and the heaven fled from his presence, and no place was found for them.


The earth quakes before them, the heavens tremble. The sun and the moon are darkened, and the stars withdraw their shining.


I looked on the mountains, and lo, they were quaking, and all the hills moved to and fro.


Now the Lord is about to lay waste the earth and make it desolate, and he will twist its surface and scatter its inhabitants.


He raises up the poor from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap, to make them sit with princes and inherit a seat of honor. For the pillars of the earth are the Lord's, and on them he has set the world.


O mountains, that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?
