For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”


he also adds, “I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”


No longer shall they teach one another, or say to each other, “Know the Lord,” for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, says the Lord; for I will forgive their iniquity, and remember their sin no more.


Come now, let us argue it out, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be like snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.


I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.


Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for your goodness' sake, O Lord!


Surely it was for my welfare that I had great bitterness; but you have held back my life from the pit of destruction, for you have cast all my sins behind your back.


Repent therefore, and turn to God so that your sins may be wiped out,


But law came in, with the result that the trespass multiplied; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,


“Why does this fellow speak in this way? It is blasphemy! Who can forgive sins but God alone?”


I, I am the Lord, and besides me there is no savior.


For your name's sake, O Lord, pardon my guilt, for it is great.


Hide your face from my sins, and blot out all my iniquities.


In those days and at that time, says the Lord, the iniquity of Israel shall be sought, and there shall be none; and the sins of Judah, and none shall be found; for I will pardon the remnant that I have spared.


Therefore say to the house of Israel, Thus says the Lord God: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am about to act, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations to which you came.


But I acted for the sake of my name, so that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.


But I acted for the sake of my name, that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations among whom they lived, in whose sight I made myself known to them in bringing them out of the land of Egypt.


For I will defend this city to save it, for my own sake and for the sake of my servant David.’ ”


It is not for your sake that I will act, says the Lord God; let that be known to you. Be ashamed and dismayed for your ways, O house of Israel.


But I withheld my hand, and acted for the sake of my name, so that it should not be profaned in the sight of the nations, in whose sight I had brought them out.

Yet, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.
