But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.


For Christ also suffered for sins once for all, the righteous for the unrighteous, in order to bring you to God. He was put to death in the flesh, but made alive in the spirit,


He is the reflection of God's glory and the exact imprint of God's very being, and he sustains all things by his powerful word. When he had made purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,


and live in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.


I am confident of this, that the one who began a good work among you will bring it to completion by the day of Jesus Christ.


so Christ, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, will appear a second time, not to deal with sin, but to save those who are eagerly waiting for him.


This is indeed the will of my Father, that all who see the Son and believe in him may have eternal life; and I will raise them up on the last day.”


who has gone into heaven and is at the right hand of God, with angels, authorities, and powers made subject to him.


God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior that he might give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.


Was it not necessary that the Messiah should suffer these things and then enter into his glory?”


He was despised and rejected by others; a man of suffering and acquainted with infirmity; and as one from whom others hide their faces he was despised, and we held him of no account.


Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.


keep yourselves in the love of God; look forward to the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ that leads to eternal life.


Now the main point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,


From now on there is reserved for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have longed for his appearing.


But our citizenship is in heaven, and it is from there that we are expecting a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ.


He said, “Abba, Father, for you all things are possible; remove this cup from me; yet, not what I want, but what you want.”


I will wait for the Lord, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him.


“And to the angel of the church in Smyrna write: These are the words of the first and the last, who was dead and came to life:


Let us then go to him outside the camp and bear the abuse he endured.


and having been made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation for all who obey him,


Jesus, knowing that the Father had given all things into his hands, and that he had come from God and was going to God,


The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”


Immediately the father of the child cried out, “I believe; help my unbelief!”


Consider him who endured such hostility against himself from sinners, so that you may not grow weary or lose heart.


and might reconcile both groups to God in one body through the cross, thus putting to death that hostility through it.


As they left the council, they rejoiced that they were considered worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.


And I, when I am lifted up from the earth, will draw all people to myself.”


The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not forsake the work of your hands.

For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.

From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and undergo great suffering at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised.


And I will pour out a spirit of compassion and supplication on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, so that, when they look on the one whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.


Alas for those who go down to Egypt for help and who rely on horses, who trust in chariots because they are many and in horsemen because they are very strong, but do not look to the Holy One of Israel or consult the Lord!


When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. But he placed his right hand on me, saying, “Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,


saying, “Write in a book what you see and send it to the seven churches, to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamum, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.”

But to which of the angels has he ever said, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?


Therefore let the entire house of Israel know with certainty that God has made him both Lord and Messiah, this Jesus whom you crucified.”


He said to them, “Elijah is indeed coming first to restore all things. How then is it written about the Son of Man, that he is to go through many sufferings and be treated with contempt?


The Lord says to my lord, “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.”


“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.


Others suffered mocking and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment.


sometimes being publicly exposed to abuse and persecution, and sometimes being partners with those so treated.


So then the Lord Jesus, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God.


and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.


For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.


but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,


My brothers and sisters, do you with your acts of favoritism really believe in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ?


So Moses made a serpent of bronze, and put it upon a pole; and whenever a serpent bit someone, that person would look at the serpent of bronze and live.
