When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said to him, “I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless.


Since he would not be persuaded, we remained silent except to say, “The Lord's will be done.”


O Lord, let your ear be attentive to the prayer of your servant, and to the prayer of your servants who delight in revering your name. Give success to your servant today, and grant him mercy in the sight of this man!” At the time, I was cupbearer to the king.


When the ways of people please the Lord, he causes even their enemies to be at peace with them.


Let your steadfast love come to me, O Lord, your salvation according to your promise.

May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and numerous, that you may become a company of peoples.


Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.


Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”


Take your brother also, and be on your way again to the man;


He caused them to be pitied by all who held them captive.


He searched, beginning with the eldest and ending with the youngest; and the cup was found in Benjamin's sack.
