For it was fitting that we should have such a high priest, holy, blameless, undefiled, separated from sinners, and exalted above the heavens.


Since, then, we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus, the Son of God, let us hold fast to our confession.


For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily,


For in him all the fullness of God was pleased to dwell,


Truly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place.


Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.


and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.


When he had said this, as they were watching, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight.


Now the main point in what we are saying is this: we have such a high priest, one who is seated at the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,


In this way God fulfilled what he had foretold through all the prophets, that his Messiah would suffer.


Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you both see and hear.


They said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking up toward heaven? This Jesus, who has been taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”


These things occurred so that the scripture might be fulfilled, “None of his bones shall be broken.”


After this, when Jesus knew that all was now finished, he said (in order to fulfill the scripture), “I am thirsty.”


So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it to see who will get it.” This was to fulfill what the scripture says, “They divided my clothes among themselves, and for my clothing they cast lots.”


From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace.


Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you—that everything written about me in the law of Moses, the prophets, and the psalms must be fulfilled.”


I know a person in Christ who fourteen years ago was caught up to the third heaven—whether in the body or out of the body I do not know; God knows.
