even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a man of violence. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief,


He is wise in heart, and mighty in strength —who has resisted him, and succeeded?—


“Indeed, I myself was convinced that I ought to do many things against the name of Jesus of Nazareth.


Woe to you who strive with your Maker, earthen vessels with the potter! Does the clay say to the one who fashions it, “What are you making”? or “Your work has no handles”?


Or are we provoking the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?


but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them—in that case you may even be found fighting against God!” They were convinced by him,


kiss his feet, or he will be angry, and you will perish in the way; for his wrath is quickly kindled. Happy are all who take refuge in him.


Jacob ate his fill; Jeshurun grew fat, and kicked. You grew fat, bloated, and gorged! He abandoned God who made him, and scoffed at the Rock of his salvation.


He fell to the ground and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?”


But get up and enter the city, and you will be told what you are to do.”


But Peter said, “By no means, Lord; for I have never eaten anything that is profane or unclean.”


When we had all fallen to the ground, I heard a voice saying to me in the Hebrew language, ‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me? It hurts you to kick against the goads.’


Not that I have already obtained this or have already reached the goal; but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own.
