but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” So, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.


Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his power.


And not only that, but we also boast in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance,


For he was crucified in weakness, but lives by the power of God. For we are weak in him, but in dealing with you we will live with him by the power of God.


My brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of any kind, consider it nothing but joy,


but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,


As they left the council, they rejoiced that they were considered worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name.


For we rejoice when we are weak and you are strong. This is what we pray for, that you may become perfect.


who consoles us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to console those who are in any affliction with the consolation with which we ourselves are consoled by God.


“Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you, revile you, and defame you on account of the Son of Man.


And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them.


For this slight momentary affliction is preparing us for an eternal weight of glory beyond all measure,


But they will do all these things to you on account of my name, because they do not know him who sent me.


We are fools for the sake of Christ, but you are wise in Christ. We are weak, but you are strong. You are held in honor, but we in disrepute.


I also know that you are enduring patiently and bearing up for the sake of my name, and that you have not grown weary.


For it is not those who commend themselves that are approved, but those whom the Lord commends.


Therefore we ourselves boast of you among the churches of God for your steadfastness and faith during all your persecutions and the afflictions that you are enduring.


For he has graciously granted you the privilege not only of believing in Christ, but of suffering for him as well—


I am now rejoicing in my sufferings for your sake, and in my flesh I am completing what is lacking in Christ's afflictions for the sake of his body, that is, the church.


I often boast about you; I have great pride in you; I am filled with consolation; I am overjoyed in all our affliction.


For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.


So we are ambassadors for Christ, since God is making his appeal through us; we entreat you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.


my persecutions and suffering the things that happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.
