Now Samuel died; and all Israel assembled and mourned for him. They buried him at his home in Ramah. Then David got up and went down to the wilderness of Paran.


A man or a woman who is a medium or a wizard shall be put to death; they shall be stoned to death, their blood is upon them.


Do not turn to mediums or wizards; do not seek them out, to be defiled by them: I am the Lord your God.


You shall not permit a female sorcerer to live.


The woman said to him, “Surely you know what Saul has done, how he has cut off the mediums and the wizards from the land. Why then are you laying a snare for my life to bring about my death?”


For rebellion is no less a sin than divination, and stubbornness is like iniquity and idolatry. Because you have rejected the word of the Lord, he has also rejected you from being king.”


Then he would come back to Ramah, for his home was there; he administered justice there to Israel, and built there an altar to the Lord.


If any turn to mediums and wizards, prostituting themselves to them, I will set my face against them, and will cut them off from the people.


But if her father refuses to give her to him, he shall pay an amount equal to the bride-price for virgins.
