James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, To the twelve tribes in the Dispersion: Greetings.


All of these died in faith without having received the promises, but from a distance they saw and greeted them. They confessed that they were strangers and foreigners on the earth,


So then you are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God,


You have made us like sheep for slaughter, and have scattered us among the nations.


Now those who were scattered went from place to place, proclaiming the word.


and not for the nation only, but to gather into one the dispersed children of God.


And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved; but for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.


Beloved, I urge you as aliens and exiles to abstain from the desires of the flesh that wage war against the soul.


Then Haman said to King Ahasuerus, “There is a certain people scattered and separated among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom; their laws are different from those of every other people, and they do not keep the king's laws, so that it is not appropriate for the king to tolerate them.
