So Ananias went and entered the house. He laid his hands on Saul and said, “Brother Saul, the Lord Jesus, who appeared to you on your way here, has sent me so that you may regain your sight and be filled with the Holy Spirit.”


For this I was appointed a herald and an apostle (I am telling the truth, I am not lying), a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and truth.


I planted, Apollos watered, but God gave the growth.


That night the Lord stood near him and said, “Keep up your courage! For just as you have testified for me in Jerusalem, so you must bear witness also in Rome.”


Now as he was going along and approaching Damascus, suddenly a light from heaven flashed around him.


For though I am free with respect to all, I have made myself a slave to all, so that I might win more of them.


For this gospel I was appointed a herald and an apostle and a teacher,


For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery.


As we work together with him, we urge you also not to accept the grace of God in vain.


Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,


Paul an apostle—sent neither by human commission nor from human authorities, but through Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—


nor did we seek praise from mortals, whether from you or from others,


I think that I am not in the least inferior to these super-apostles.


Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,


Now I am speaking to you Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle to the Gentiles, I glorify my ministry


through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for the sake of his name,


When the apostles Barnabas and Paul heard of it, they tore their clothes and rushed out into the crowd, shouting,


But the residents of the city were divided; some sided with the Jews, and some with the apostles.


While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, “Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”


But the Lord said to him, “Go, for he is an instrument whom I have chosen to bring my name before Gentiles and kings and before the people of Israel;


He asked, “Who are you, Lord?” The reply came, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting.


I mean the other's conscience, not your own. For why should my liberty be subject to the judgment of someone else's conscience?


If I partake with thankfulness, why should I be denounced because of that for which I give thanks?


But if anyone is disposed to be contentious—we have no such custom, nor do the churches of God.


Look at what is before your eyes. If you are confident that you belong to Christ, remind yourself of this, that just as you belong to Christ, so also do we.
