Like good stewards of the manifold grace of God, serve one another with whatever gift each of you has received.


For a bishop, as God's steward, must be blameless; he must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or addicted to wine or violent or greedy for gain;


they must hold fast to the mystery of the faith with a clear conscience.


For we do not proclaim ourselves; we proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and ourselves as your slaves for Jesus' sake.


Pray also for me, so that when I speak, a message may be given to me to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel,


I want their hearts to be encouraged and united in love, so that they may have all the riches of assured understanding and have the knowledge of God's mystery, that is, Christ himself,


Now to God who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the proclamation of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages


At the same time pray for us as well that God will open to us a door for the word, that we may declare the mystery of Christ, for which I am in prison,


he has made known to us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure that he set forth in Christ,


But if I wish to boast, I will not be a fool, for I will be speaking the truth. But I refrain from it, so that no one may think better of me than what is seen in me or heard from me,


Are they ministers of Christ? I am talking like a madman—I am a better one: with far greater labors, far more imprisonments, with countless floggings, and often near death.


And the Lord said, “Who then is the faithful and prudent manager whom his master will put in charge of his slaves, to give them their allowance of food at the proper time?


“Who then is the faithful and wise slave, whom his master has put in charge of his household, to give the other slaves their allowance of food at the proper time?


Without any doubt, the mystery of our religion is great: He was revealed in flesh, vindicated in spirit, seen by angels, proclaimed among Gentiles, believed in throughout the world, taken up in glory.


He must not be a recent convert, or he may be puffed up with conceit and fall into the condemnation of the devil.


but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities,


when slandered, we speak kindly. We have become like the rubbish of the world, the dregs of all things, to this very day.


What then is Apollos? What is Paul? Servants through whom you came to believe, as the Lord assigned to each.


But we speak God's wisdom, secret and hidden, which God decreed before the ages for our glory.


And he said to them, “To you has been given the secret of the kingdom of God, but for those outside, everything comes in parables;


He answered, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given.


He said, “To you it has been given to know the secrets of the kingdom of God; but to others I speak in parables, so that ‘looking they may not perceive, and listening they may not understand.’


just as they were handed on to us by those who from the beginning were eyewitnesses and servants of the word,


So that you may not claim to be wiser than you are, brothers and sisters, I want you to understand this mystery: a hardening has come upon part of Israel, until the full number of the Gentiles has come in.


Moreover, it is required of stewards that they be found trustworthy.
