and he had prepared for him a great chamber, where aforetime they laid the meat offerings, the frankincense, and the vessels, and the tithes of the corn, the new wine, and the oil, which was commanded to be given to the Levites, and the singers, and the porters; and the offerings of the priests.


For it hath been declared unto me of you, my brethren, by them which are of the house of Chlo´e, that there are contentions among you.


The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.


On that day they read in the book of Moses in the audience of the people; and therein was found written, that the Ammonite and the Moabite should not come into the congregation of God for ever;


Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Per´izzites, the Jeb´usites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.


And the sons of Eli-oe´nai were, Hodai´ah, and Eli´ashib, and Pelai´ah, and Akkub, and Jo´hanan, and Dalai´ah, and Ana´ni, seven.
